Java Plug-in Test

If you have Java installed and enabled, you should see a player name in the box below:

Nope, you don't have it installed.

Making sure Java is installed and enabled

To enable Java on Internet Explorer:

  • Run the Installation check from sun.com. If Java is not installed, follow Sun's download instructions.

  • If it is installed, do the following to enable it:

    Click Tools / Internet Options...
    Then the "Advanced" tab,
Then scroll down to "Use Java ... for <applet>, and make sure the box is checked.

Try it again. If it still doesn't work, IE may be using Microsoft's JVM, not Sun's. So then, try this:
  • From your Start menu, choose: Settings -> Control Panel.
  • There should be a "Java Plug-in" icon there. Click it open.
  • Click the "Browser" tab. Make sure the box for "Microsoft Internet Explorer" is checked.
  • Restart IE.

To enable Java on Mozilla or Netscape:
  • Run the Installation check from sun.com. If Java is not installed, follow Sun's download instructions.

  • If it is installed, do the following to enable it:

    Click Edit / Preferences...
    Click the "Advanced" category
Make sure the "Enable Java" box is checked.

Note: This program will not work on Netscape version 4.x.

If you are still having problems, email scorebard @ humbug.com for help.
